Hi I’m Faya! I just started this blog and i’m have a little trouble setting it up but i think ill get the hang of it… I hope! šĀ
crowning glory | 01
I have two go-to hairstyles: loose and wavy, and messy top knot. IĀ pin hair tutorials like itās my job, but I never make an effort to try anything new. Like, ever.
So letās not get crazy and call this a resolution, but Iām hoping to mix up my mane now and then, master a few [easy] styles, and maybe share them on the blog in a completely random and noncommittal series, aptly named after the Pinterest board that houses all my good hair inspiration.
Kicking things of with the easiest of ādos: the throwback topsy tail, made modern with a little mess.
You can find simple instructions for this classic pony on Gal Meets Glam. Ā I sprayed mine with Lush Sea Spray for texture, then teased the pony a bit with a boar bristle round brush for extra volume. To finish the front, I quickly curledā¦

Retiring a journal
Running out of pages in oneās current journal is not the only reason for retiring it and moving on to a new journal. It has been a very long time, in fact, since I filled a journal right up to its very last page. The way it usually happens, with me, is that I will sit down to my semi-regular ritual of journal-keeping, and feel a powerful aversion to writing in that journal. As though the things I want to write about donāt belong in that particular book.Ā My journals usually span a period of 5-7 yearsā¦a good chunk of time in which major life situation and personality changes might occur (Iām not talking about the fanciful myth that claims we generate completely new bodies every 7 years!) that find me a different person, at the end, from who I was when I started the journal.
Soon after we arrivedā¦

comfort zone
I could happily live out the rest of my days in giant sweaters and good leggings. By āgood leggings,ā I mean high quality ones made of substantial fabric for grown ladies; not the flimsy show-every-bit-of-your-business leg wear found in the juniors department. I know itās tempting, but just, no.
I found these INC stretch leggings at Macyās just before Thanksgiving ā because, hello, comfy glutton pants ā and forked over the retail price because theyāre that awesome. Ā Now theyāre on sale, so you can scoop them up for almost half of what I paid and pair them up with your favorite boots and chunky knits this winter. And I can get a backup pair (or two).

my new daily makeup routine
I like to keep my daily makeup routine simple, with a few important things in mind: (1) moisturization, (2) SPF, and (3) a little glow.
I found this step-by-step photo tutorial for Flawless Skin With a Beauty Blender by Once Wed on Pinterest, and tried it for the first time this week.
Before I got started, I moisturized with Koh Gen Do Spa Moisture Spa Gel (which I purchased on Hautelook for 50% off) and did my eye makeup.
Then, because I didnāt have all the tutorialās suggested supplies on hand, I made a few tweaks using my favorite products:
- For starters, I love the SOHO version of the beauty blender sponge; it works just as well for a third of the price!
- If you donāt have hydration spray, wetting the sponge with water and squeezing out the excess works, too. [Sidenote: I purchased a bottle of Clinique Moistureā¦
